GIRL CRUSH: M.I.A.
I have this weird fascination/love for artist, musician activist, singer, songwriter M.I.A. Its weird because I get completely obsessed with her for 2 weeks, cant stop youtubing her music and video's dancing around my bedroom to galang and bad girls and drool over google images for days over her style. And its strange because it happens every 4/5 months, I get obsessed then move on to something else, and something reminds me of her and I am back there again!

(Saw some in new look months ago wish i brought them!) My search took me to h&m today and I brought a pair for £24.99 but Im gunna take them back because they didnt fit right - does anyone else find this with H&M's trousers/jeans?

MAKE UP DOLL
good evening everyone!
i went on a slight make up splurge today. I mentioned yesterday that i was getting inspired by the beauty blogs i keep reading, and today i just couldn't help myself; so i ran in to town this lunch break to treat myself :)
i really wanted to get some make up from topshop, their products look good and they always recieve great write ups and reviews. It wasn't until i got to our local Topshop today that i discovered our Topshop doesnt sell the make up range! only nail polishes and i have enough of those, so i ran in to boots instead.
this is what i brought. Garnier dark eye roll on (in medium) £10.20; Rimmel match perfection compat powder (soft beige) £5.99; No 7 photo flawness skin primer £4.99; Collection 2000 extreme felt eye liner (purple) £2.99; Collection 2000 last colour nail polish (ice cube); Rimmel 60 seconds nail polish (pompous) £3.99; and from H&M i brought smokey eye pencil £2.99 and Eyeshadow pallet £5.99
i wanted to go to debenhams to completely splurge on some Benifit make up but i ran out of time and had to go bak to work. But to be fair i probably brought enough make up, and if i was in debenhams i would only be tempted to splash out and buy some MAC cosmetics too.
the whole reaso for all this is because i am bored of my current to to day look. Also i think it is good to change products now and then, so you don't get stuck in a routine and buy the same things all the time. Im really pleased with the Rimmel Foundation, it matches my skin olour exactly. testing it on my hand in the shop i thought there was some wrong! it was till tested a different shade that i realised, the reason i couldnt see it on my hand was because it was the exact colour! AMAZING! also i really excited about the primer. i had no idea this product existed until reading other blogs! i have olive skin so the area around my eyes is really dark and can make me look like a drug addict on bad days! but with this primer those days will be gone! haha i am like a 6 year old children playing with her mothers make up for the first time and stumbled across a whole new world!
These are the products i normally use day to day -
its pretty dull. Today i got ready for work in records time, 40 mins. And in that 40 mins, i washed/dried/styled my hair, put on a fae mask, got dressed for work, ate my breakfast, drunk 2 cups of tea and fixed my face.
the reason i could get ready so quik was because i turned into a robot in the mornings and everything is just on auto pilot. My make up takes 5-10 mins depending on how big the bags are under my eyes. i read on one blog (i cant remember which!) that the blogger takes up to an hour everyday to just do her make up. which got me thinking if i spend more time on it then i will naturally want to expiriment more.
So with my old products, this is my every day look
excuse the lighting, my room is so shit for lighting i have to pluck my eyebrows at the boyfriends house because i just cant find the light at home. I'll post a photo tomorrow of my new face in my new make up!!
Also today, i brought 2 dresses from H&M, i haven't photographed them becuase they are both just plain bodycon dresses one black the other navy. they are going to be my new (what i like to call) 'petticoats' dresses to wear under other items to add layers to my look but also to keep me warm in these recent cold days. I also got a new jumper from New Look, i brought a cardigan in the sale last week but changed my mind about it. And because it was in the sale i could only exchange, so i got this cool neon aztec print jumper.
and lastly for today, my leopard print item was...... red leopard print earings!

just a quick post tonight ladies and guys. i thought as it is coming to the end of my leopard print fashion challenge i would post photo's daily. hopefully this to will get me in the habbit to photograph daily looks and get my LOOKBOOK running properly.
Today as pictured i wore a leopard print waist belt for work. i was orginally wearing it with my favourite black high waisted skirt but the zip broke just as i walking out the door! thank god it chose to go then! so i rushed back in and quickly switched for a tan pencil skirt (NEW LOOK).
i have been reading lot of beauty blogs recently and it has got me inspired. im not normally a make up person. i mean i wear it everyday, and i love looking a photographs of make up especially really vibrant looks with lots if bright colour and glitter. But i generally dont wear these looks myself (unless a fancy party). if you have any beauty blogs to recomend please let me know! i have olive skin and dark hair so would love to see a blog with a simular look, but i still love to see everyone elses!
so do you have a beauty blog to recomend?

new year, new...
…Shoes!! of course what else! But it is these beautiful
brown leather doc martens that have got my heart racing over the last 10 days.
Father Christmas was very good to me and got my exactly what
I wanted. A brown pair of 1490 Doc Marten’s; they feed my new obsession for
brown shoes. Where I have got this fantasy I am quite unsure but brown seems to
fit/clash very nicely with everything else that is in my wardrobe right now,
and I want to get more. I’m currently trying to hunt down a pair of brown
creepers. (yes I know they sound amazing!) but the only pair I can find is a
homemade set on ebay for £70, not including p&p and I just can’t bring
myself to spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes. Though if I still have
not found a pair by next pay day I might have to dive deep into my cath kidston
purse, bit lip, and lie to everyone and by them.
I generally did quite well for clothes this budget Christmas.
Also getting some red aztek print leggings, which are surprising flattering on
my size 12 legs. An offensive mustard yellow cardigan which I really wanted;
and some hair accessories.
So I have written out my plan for 2012 in my new leather
bound diary. 14 resolutions I have!! Don’t fret! I won’t bore you with them all,
but they consist of the normal, travelling, meet new people, save money, move
out, write a book, get published etc I also have a pile of 40 books and 17 dvd’s
all unread and unwatched, and I vale to myself that I will watch and read them
all before buying any more (neither to say, I wrote this last year and failed miserably).
So happy new year everyone! Best wishes to you all!
Lotta love

style crush:
it's very rare that i post the same subject on my music blog anf fashion blog. but this time there was a need.
see photo's above of new kid on the block, singer/songwriter Tanya Lacey. not only does she have a style i wish i had but she also confims me to atempt to dye my hair blonde again.
Tanya Lacey is from bristol, UK and began her career singing in a local reggae band at 16. she learnt and perfected her talent and currently in the studio recording her forth coming album.
you can hear Lacey on Loick Essen’s track ‘how we roll’ which she features but she has also realised her own single ‘letter’s to my ex’

STYLE ON TRIAL
STYLE ON TRIAL -
Being a style blog it’s only fair that we study indiviual style, anaylsis it, like it and then share with the world. because of this i’m going to twice a month share the style of an individual with you, their history, achievements, admirations, photo’s, video’s, art and me taking influence from them on my own personal style.
the whole idea of this is inspire you and who knows you may learn/ discover something new!
so my first style on trail is - siouxsie sioux (lead singer of siouxsie and the banshees; and iconic figure of the original 1970’s london punk scene)

boy about town
I haven’t been clothes shopping for months. Money is tight and I am trying to save for a deposit on a house. And if you are doing the same thing you will understand how difficult that is. Saying this however that all changed yesterday. My best friend called me at lunch wanting me to escort her to the retail park to buy a birthday present for someone. This went well, too well in fact; and I actually broke out my purse to buy some jewellery. I fell for this freedom from topshop neck lace just £5 with my initial. They also had the necklace in red and green, but blue is my favourite so it suited me to a T. I today though, have been itching to go back and buy a ‘C’ for my boyfriends initial. Corny maybe but we have been together nearly 8 years and it’s better that getting a tattoo , so I think I can allow myself this corny romantic gesture.
I have a thing for these rope bracelets too, and found one in miss selfridge, with 4 beads ‘L.O.V.E.’ mine! but I didn’t stop there on walking out of the store we passed stand of Burton jewellery, and my eye’s light up like a firework when I found this religious bracelet. For some reason I brought I choose to get it in brown, they also had it in blue, red and white.
my camera wont pick the religous braclet very well but this is what it looks like online.
But I have been thinking of it all day and I want it in red to! So bored – lunch break at work I had a look on the Burton website. Not only did I discover that they have 30% of everything today but also I quite fancy some of the other men’s jewellery in my collection. I really like the star rings and cross earrings.
www.burton.co.uk all under a fiver, the cross earrings do come in other clothes and as I said they have 30% off today so what you waiting for!!
My small shopping splurge didn’t stop there though. We went via tesco’s to get some cheap make up and got distracted by their, own F&F clothes. I have been wanting an alternative to my ballet pumps for a while, they are ugly and because I have size 8 feet I look like a crap clown. And in tesco I succeeded and brought these patent black loafers, just £14!! £14 for a pair for shoes absolute bargain!
And that was the end of my shopping I spent £28 and brought four things! I know a bargain when I see them!
Next….
I am taking my Egyptian obsession to the next level. And I have made the session, this year’s Halloween costume is Queen Cleopatra! I am currently watching Elizabeth Taylor and Cleopatra which is true eye candy and idea’s and streaming in my head. I’m experimenting on make already too! This is going to be so much fun. I need to raid charity shops for the perfect dress!
Since my little excursion yesterday I have been a online window shopping whore today. And I have found the most beautiful dress in the most unusual place.
Yes that is Ferene Cotton and this £79 dress is from her latest collection for www.Very.com I admit I am not a Ferene Cotton fan, I don’t like her radio show and I don’t admire her style. But this dress is truly beautiful, but at £79 it is not something I can really buy for no reason. I did speak to my mom and suggested I could buy it as an investment, that in hope one day I will have a reason to wear it. But she told me that was stupid. ‘Investment’ I have never understood that word people use it in reference to clothes and fashion, who buys clothes as an investment?! Well it definitely won’t be me any time soon as £79 is too much for a ‘just in case’ dress.

NEWS: GAGA LAUNCHES FAHION LINE??!?!

the rumour’s continue and hear say buzz’s that the fashion line will be a collaboration with her younger sister Natali Germanotta. It is all supposed to be "relatively normal and wearable" says a source a grazes magazine. but I quite the idea of been able to go into a high street shop and buy a bloody meat flesh dress and seeing the likes of us ‘norms’ wearing it. Imagine the situation walking to a room and someone else too is wearing the meat dress! Hilarious!! Though I am sure no doubt it will still show the essence of gaga style as to be honest I don’t see her clothes as that outlandish it’s not what you wear it’s how you wear that defines the person.
Bring on gaga high street!

FASHION CHALLENGE #2

So this is my shoe collection. You might remember that I did a fashion challenge before and gave up wearing black for lent. Well, this time I'm challenging myself to wear a different pair if shoes everyday for 2 months. (yes I do own that many shoes!) It might not sound like a challenge at first but think it about it - my everyday outfits will now be designed around my shoes and what about days that I'm not in the mood to wear heels but have already worn all my flats or it's pissing it outside with rain and only have flip flops to wear..... You get my point it's not as easy as you first fear.
