HAUL TIME!

I'm back! And back with a huge haul :D Yes, though I have struggled to find the time to blog over the last month, I still found plenty of time to shop!

Monday, 18 February 2013

3 words

It's that time of the month when payday is in reach and I start narrowing down my 'wishlists' to 'what I can actually afford list'.

I have been on a journey of self discovery recently, and in particular I am learning about my skin tone, and my body shape. I've finally come to terms with my olive skin, accepting it, and dare I say it, almost loving it?? (maybe not yet).
As part of this learning curve I'm finding what suits me, my undertones and colourings. Learning that I have a yellow undertone, which is a 'cool' colour tone, (I always assumed I was 'warm' because I had olive skin) I've finally been able to find a foundation that suits me and with that I am discovering more colours and clothes. I think this is why I have had a sudden urge to clear out everything in my wardrobe, and buy a whole new one!

And with this sudden urge I have found myself obsessing over 3 colours - Cobalt Blue, Bright White and Burnt Orange. (ironically blue and orange are 2 colours I thought I could never wear). These are my current lusts!:

COBALT BLUE
L-R Contrast Sleeve Dress Topshop £29, Blue Flatforms Topshop £48, Geometric Print Jumper Dress Topshop £38, Blue oversized Knit Jumper Topshop £36, Number Sleeve Pullover Topshop £35, Lace Top Miss Selfridge £24, Blue Leather Bag River Island £30, Motel Disco Pants £42.

Colour Inspiration from - Jessie J

I am obsessing over the plain blue oversized Knit from Topshop. I've tried it on 3 times and I love it, but I cant justify paying £36 for a plain jumper. Hopefully it will be in the sale soon!

BRIGHT WHITE
L-R: Winged Goddess T-shirt Miss Guided £11.99, White Bikini Top £1 River Island, Cheetah Crop Top Topshop £14, White cutout Top Miss Guided £18.99, Sick Girl Cap £35 (ava. ASOS.COM) Adiddas Watch £50, White Buckle Wedges River Island £60, Wu Tnag Clang Sweatshirt TopShop £35, Boy London Vest (ASOS.COM) £35

Colour Inspiration - Rita Ora

In particular I'm loving white graphic/slogan tees and jumpers. I think that is the re-living the 90's thinking in my head. I love the Boy London and Sick Girl branding, but again I cant justify paying £30+ for a t-shirt that just says 'boy london'. Since seeing Rita Ora in a white swimsuit its on my wish list for this summer. I really like the sporty one that River Island have at the moment, and it's available in more colours. I also loved her simple white day dress, another on my list!

BURNT ORANGE
L-R orange wide leg trousers (Aqua @ ASOS.com) £80, Topshop Lipstick in shade Infrared £8, Barry M Nail Paint in Tangerine £2.99, Orange High Tops Next (childrens dept) £35, Bodycon Dress Motel Rocks £45, Skinny Belt ASOS £6, Leather Bag Topshop £28, V-Neck Jumper Dress River Island £28.

 Colour Inspiration

How amazing does Rihanna look in orange! I always thought Orange clashed with my own skin tone, so vowed never to wear it. This was until last summer when I stole a simple orange t-shirt from my mother and received lots of compliments! Discovering my new favourite colour,  I brought this Barry M nail varnish in tangerine and wore it all summer, along with my Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in shade 07 . The orange wide leg trousers above are beautiful, If I was a high flyer I would definitely snatch them up. But there is no way I can pay £80 for some orange flared trousers. Instead I think I'll have to buy the V-neck jumper dress for a much reasonable £28.

Are you obsessing over any colours recently? Or maybe discovered something you thought you couldn't wear?

Kelly Brook for New Look - CLOTHES!!

Model and presenter Kelly Brook has been working with new look for a few years now, producing ranges  of 50's swimwear and vintage inspired underwear. I own a couple of the bikini's and swinsuits, so always get excited at the news of new range launching; and this week Kelly has launched clothing!

Kelly is well known for her amazing curvy figure, and the 50's tea dress she wears to flaunt it to it's best. So it is obvious that like her personal style and previous underwear/swimwear ranges her clothes are going to mirror the same modern twist on her 50's glamour look.

These are my favorite pieces from the range:

Being New Look prices are very affordable!! prices range from £14.99 for a top to £39.99 for a dress. I love the poppy orange print! I also am itching to buy the polka dot trouses, skirt and bustier! hahaha! ok just give it to me all!!

All available to buy now online! CLICK HERE!!!

TOP'S OFF

It has come to my realization, that the reason I take so long to decide what to wear each day; is because I have NO tops.

Obviously I do have a few tops, but all of my tops are t-shirts - band shirts, slogan tee's, plain t-shirts etc. but that is it. When shopping I always buy dresses, skirts and trousers, but NEVER tops. This is why I am USELESS at deciding what to wear - because I have nothing to wear (with my trousers/ skirts/ leggings/etc)!

So, now I have made this recent discovery, in the last week my fingers, eye's and Cath kidston purse have been glued to my laptop and world of internet shopping. I've made rules to myself that from now on I am only allowed to buy tops, unless it is a dress/skirt/trousers that I really really can not live without. And also when buying a top, I must think about what multiple things I can wear with it.

Of course a few things have slipped through the net, but this is what I brought in the last week from surfing the net....

Black crop vest, aztek printed leggings, leopard print crop bustier - all river Island. Black long sleeve bardot top - ASOS.

Neon pink dress, grey dress - H&M floral bardot top, white bardot top, white bardot dress - Miss Selfridge Neon pink top, earings, belt - H&M

I also ordered another blouse from Dorothy Perkins today, I had too, they had 20% today only. (though the postage fee, pretty much added it back on) But I'm stuggling still! these tops I've new brought are great, but I need more :) hahaha! I still dont have tops to match so many more of clothes! The reason I've not brought tops before is because I'm really fussy about them so struggle to find something I like.

I have now too fallen for a pair for peg leg leopard print trousers in my mom's catalogue. Just £35 issue is though they are Neon and..... I have nothing to wear with them :) hahahaa! So more shopping again!! I need a wardrobe just for tops!

Do you have any wardrobe issues like me? Have any rules on shopping? I wanna hear about your shopping tales too!!

Also, know anywhere to buy nice tops from??

hole in my pocket

i have such an issue with money. i am generally completely skint right now; not the type of skint when you tell people your really skint but there's a couple coins in your purse and a fiver in your bank. i mean the type of poor when i actually generally have no funds at all. i am £23 over drawn and i don't even have a overdraft!

So the bank wouldn't charge me XXXX amount for being overdrawn i went to my savings account (which is low already) and paid some money into my account. I also took out a bit extra to cover me until i get paid next thursday. Not a lot £20, more than enough for essinstals but enough to buy food, emergency petrol if i need it. The second i walked out of the bank i headed straight to the new shopping centre in town to see what i could buy!
what is wrong with me? i do this every month, and the reason i am £23 overdrawn is because of this exact same reason! last week, while stalking the world of tumblr i found these amazing leggings. i'm not a leggings person, but these are just so f-ing cool i had to have, no questions asked.

yes i know i know there are truely amazing. i found them on the site www.prettysucks.com they have a few really lush things, but the majority of it isn't to my taste. But anyways i found these and on the stite it said 'last few remaining' so i couldn't sit and dwell on weather to buy them or not. i had to just do ahead and do it.

the site is german and they arrived within a week which really impressed me. Also i got 2 stickers, i love this when you recieve free merch with purchases, it makes it feel so personal . in town i did try on a few bits in my favourite shop right now - New Look they have this ugly neon aztec print veset top which i fell in love with, and a mint green vintage lace crop top (couldnt fit more adjec tives in there if i tried!)
i though the 2 would look cool layered together, which they did. i wanted to buy the zest top and walked over to the till. they had obviously crashed and there was a new bird on the tills runnning around headless not knowing what to do. so i dumped the top on a rail of leopard print skirts and bailed.

i did however cross the road to HMV and brought Dum Dum girls duebt and Hunter S, Thompson's Fear and loathing in las vegas. ohh and some socks, girls gotta have socks. so from my £20 i had, i now have £4 to last me till next wednesday. and it can't come soon enough.

Now the biggest decision of my evening is what colour to dye my hair...

i'm starting again. some of you may remember that a couple of months ago i started my seond clothes challenge; which was to wear something leopard print everyday. my camera broke (when i say broke i actaully mean ran out of battery) so i couldn't photograph anything and there for the challenge came to a hault. so starting again; here's take two.

challenge is to wear something leopard print everyday for a month. today is the 9th January, so my challenge finishes on the 9th February; this will be fun. i encourge you to join me in doing your own fashion challenge.

today's look

top of the shops

Please excuse my lack of photo post recently. I know im supposed to be doing a look book diary but without a camera (mine decided in its own head not took take photos anymore) but you will have to take my word for it that I am keeping it up. ‘Everyday I’m leopard print’ (sing like LAMFO) as soon as my camera is working again/been replaced/I have a new one. I will take photos of all the items I have been wearing.

Today I did something dangerous. It’s 2 weeks till Christmas, I have done no Christmas shopping and I don’t get paid till the 20th December. I took 5 minutes of my working day and had a nose at TOPSHOP ‘new in’ items – as per normal my heart has fallen deep in to my stomach as I have fallen for almost everything and am extremely tempted to ignore Christmas blame the recession not buy anyone presents and stock up my own wardrobe.

Here is what they have to offer:

Tan harness belt £40.00; Wallpaper Dress £65.00; Dip Dye Jumper £65.00; Orange Peter Pan Collar Dress £70.00; Pink Peter Pan Collar Dress £46.00 Day Bag £25.00 ‘city of Angels’ tee £22.00; Pink Silk Cami £26.00

I fell in love with this colour scheme last winter. Chole brang her sexy back at fashion week last autumn and these colours were everywhere. I even rearranged my wardrobe to have these colours next to each other and inspire me and it’s a colour scheme ive loved ever since.

Leopard print peace top £20.00; peace bra top £12.00; black platform shoes £65.00; Fur Coat £110.00; Teen Angst Crop top £22.00; Leopard Body £38.00; ‘Sin City’ Tee £22.00

Ok where to start. The teen angst top is a absolute fucking must! So is the peace bra top. I would layer it on top of another top/dress to show the world. I also really like the leopard print peace top; though I don’t like the length I would cut it to a crop top and maybe cut under the arms to, to show a bit of flesh, and a top underneath. £20 seems bit much to me to spend on a top im just going to cut up. So I might for this to go in the sale. Oh and if you don’t like the leopard print colours, it also comes in grey.

Tomorrow is our work Christmas due. Ive never quite understood the fascination with buying a new dress, the stress of getting ready. Everyone see you every day, they know what you look like. Wearing a £60 Lipsy dress is going to change their opinion. Thats why I am wearing a 3 year old black high waisted skirt and a size 24 (im size 12) leopard blouse that I brought in a charity shop for £4.50 2 weeks ago. Belle of the ball? Who gives a toss? Not as if it’s royal wedding or anything.

Like a leopard would

i took some time out from my lunch break today and had a stroll down thatcham high street. Thatcham is the town next to mine. it's tiny, rough, full of oap and chav's. it consists of 2 co-op's a post office with a small que (which is why i was there) indian takeway, amry surplers and 6 charity shops. it was when i was walking past one charity shop i spotted this oversize leopard print shirt.

A bargin at £4.50!! considering in m ebay i was watching a shirt pretty much the same for £20. it had some nasty shoulder pads which needed removing; but i am tres pleased with my lunch time buy.

this isn't the only leopard print purchase i've made this week!! hahahah! ok i confess i am a leopard print whore!! yesterday i brought a leopard bodycon skirt from New look. £12.99 lil expensive for me, but it will certainly get it's wear from it. (i would upload a photo to show but my camera has decided that it will not work past 9.30)

these talks of leopard print and my obesstion has inspired me for my next 'fashion challenge' first it was ban of black for lent, then to wear a different pair of shoes everyday. Now challenge no.3 is - leopard print. i have so much leopard print in my wardrobe that i am going to wear it everyday for a month. photo diary will appear i promise.

now for some inspiration:
