SHOP FOR THE WEATHER

So just now I was shopping as normal on TOPSHOP when I noticed in the top right hand corner the website was telling me the weather.

Being a 'fashion' site, I did double take and think "why is Topshop telling me what the weather is?" I then saw it said 'SHOP FOR OVERCAST' clicking the link the site took me a brand new page with fashion ideas for the overcast weather.

I thought this was genius! Not only does it give great shopping advice, but even better I thought was the new styling advice I was being given - now when I don't know what to wear because of the weather I can just ask Topshop to tell me, and I can then interrupt it's suggestions with the pieces I already have in my wardrobe - great for those early mornings when my brain has quite switched on!

thanks Topshop!

MOTEL WISHLIST

All available at Motelrocks.com

Motel is by far my favourite place for nostalgia prints right now. Everything just reminds me of those early 90's grunge days, when I wished I was old enough to buy my own clothes, and didn't have to relay on the neighbours hand-me-downs.I am particularly smitten with the Sunflower print and found it hard to narrow it down to just these 3 piece, there is an amazing playsuit that I still, can't stop thinking of.

These pieces at Motel are the ultimate summer staples. All you need to do is chuck on a pair of Doc Martens and your already - perfect effortless style! Or if it still below 20 degrees add a t-shirt underneath for the ultimate grunge look and a leather jacket.

The prints I've featured above are:

Have you brought anything from Motel recently? Do you have a favourite print?
I've just realised I've also missed out the Sunflower print Bikini which I absolutely love!!

LOST CONTROL - slogan top's

Daily I am filling up my online wishlist's and shopping baskets, with what seems like an endless amount of slogan tee's. There is just something so effortlessly stylish about a slogan tee, and they are the perfect item to wear on the those 'I just really can't be bothered days'. The 'I can't be bothered to speak so I'll let my t-shirt do the talking' kinda days. Just throw it on with a pair of jeans and converse or boots and the outfit is done.

And I especially love them, when they are a little bit offensive ;)

I recently came across the site divinetrash.co.uk. They have some great slogan tops. The above 'Lost Control t-shirt is £34 is something I am now really lusting for, equally I love this 'Porn is the new Black' £48 the drapery cut is a great alternative to the standard t-shirt and would look great with some Black Milk leggings. And this 'Led Bloody Zeppelin' vest £45 just makes me smile!

Check Mate

So, it's official According to the fashion a retail worlds, Summer is officially over and it's time for the AW13 trends. Of course though, because of the recent heatwave we have been experiencing shops are desperate trying to keep their news AW13 trends as light as possible, holding on to short sleeves, light colours and fabrics. Even desperately designing new pieces and putting them straight to production; to take advantage of the crazy long lasting Summer. Irony is though its AUGUST!! It's suppose to be warm! Retail moves so quickly that the pushing the new seasons on us faster than the changing weather.

So now, all the new trends oooze mixed pieces that you can wear now and sooo incredibly easily wear though winter too. Continuing with the 90's rival, AW13 is seeing the return of grunge, Tartan and Checks. Yay!! My second favourite print! Cleverly alot of store are introducing them in light bright colours to suit the current climate, but chuck on a pair of Doc Martens and opaque tights, you've got your AW sussed.

Topshop has the best choices of tartan/check right now, but other stores are slowly introducing them too. Wait until we are fully in season, and you'll be sick of the print I'm sure.

These are my picks from TOPSHOP that are all available to buy now instore and online:
Mac Coat £85, Scarf £18, Dungeree Dress was £48 now £15 in sale, Embroided Check Blouse £29, Daisy Check Dress £28, Red Tartan Top £30, Denim Check Skirt £34, Red Check Shirt £28, Plaid Shoes £24, Pink Tartan Midi Skirt £48.

I really, really want the Red Top, but it seems soooo over priced for a simple tee. I'm falling for the pink skirt too, which I think I gunna have to order online soon too.

Best of the rest:

L-R Grey oversize shirt - Miss Selfridge £25, Tartan Rucksack - ASOS £25, Dip Dyed Check Shirt - River Island £25, Black Peter Pan Collar Top - Miss Selfridge £32, Maxi Pinafore Dress - River Island £35, Dungerees - New Look £24.99, Tartan Tube Pants - River Island £35, Black and White Dress -New Look £17.99, Skater Shirt - New Look £7.99.

So from this list I WILL be buying the River Island Maxi Dress and New Look's skater skirt. I think the tube pants are amazing, but I simply don't have the figure to pull it off. Alternatively Miss Selfridge have two simular skater skirts and a lush co-ord top!! See it all here!!

I am a complete sucker for tartan, so I'm really excited for these new looks. Is there a AW trend that your excited about?

Lunchtime Shopping #13 - Tropicana boots!

Shelly's Blue Tropical Print Alexa Cut Out Boot £64.99 at New Look

Think i have just died and gone to shoe heaven! How bloody amazing are these shoes!! And they are shelly's! Who remembers Shelly's??! I remember when I was a young adolescent that 'Shelly's' were the shoes to have as a young lady, and you had to shop in Faith (remember them!) and have a Kookai Shoulder bag! hahaha! Fortunately I was never in the 'it' crowd at school, so Clark shoes and a TK Maxx bag was all I had to muster.

 - Moral of the story is I have a fashion blog, fashion job and none of those 'cool' girls from school do :)

Want some Pumpkin in that Soup?

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to share with you the wonders that is Pumpkin Soup. A independent online store specialising in DIY, Vintage and retro clothing, jewellery, and accessories. I came across the online boutique, through the owner Tori's personal blog. They have an amazing selection of over-sized boyfriend jumpers, grunge-boy shirts and 'granny' skirts.

Photo's taken from the Pumpkin Soup Dec 12 Lookbook.

Don't they seem perfect for this current weather!

Snapshot of the Pumpkin Soup website: www.pumpkinsoup.co.uk

I can't get enough of oversized clothing right now, they just add an edge to any outfit, plus being so big they are perfect for wrapping around yourself to warm and cosy! (sorry I keep going on about the weather! but's crazy right now!) The fashion world is having a 90's rival right now too, so getting anything 2 sizes to big, vintage and in a 'ugly' print, will instantly update your wardrobe to be on trend.

Taking a pick of Pumpkin Soup website, I have put this look together from some of my favourite pieces.
Of course this outfit would not be complete without a pair of ripped tights and distressed Doc Martens. I'll add a faux scarf too for extra warmth, and maybe even some knee high socks.

Pumpkin Soup ship internationally so there is no one that can miss out on this little online gem. Find them at www.pumpkinsoup.co.uk also facebook Pumpkin Soup Boutique and twitter @Pumpkinsoupshop.

... and it burns

This was just going to be a quick post to show off this amazing bag I brought yesterday from TK Maxx for £19.99. But I have this thing that whenever it is coming up to payday and I have money left over in the bank I graze every shop in town, every website I can think off and spend what is left.

Why?! I don't need things, but oh my god they are beautiful! So yesterday with this habit in mind I stepped into TK Maxx and found this beauty :

All the riches baby, won't mean anything.

After the excitement of sales, the second most exciting thing is - the new collections! I posted earlier this week about the new River Island A/W collection (you can read it here!); and now I want to show you the new collection from high street queens NEW LOOK. And my first thought? This looks expensive!

A variety of mod oversized dogtooth jackets, leather skirts and dresses and enough tartan to decorate Holyrood Palace. Prices start from £22.99 and keep the New Look price tags; nothing is over priced or expensive which is great. Especially when they look this good! You'll look asif you have spent £100's.

TOP'S OFF

It has come to my realization, that the reason I take so long to decide what to wear each day; is because I have NO tops.

Obviously I do have a few tops, but all of my tops are t-shirts - band shirts, slogan tee's, plain t-shirts etc. but that is it. When shopping I always buy dresses, skirts and trousers, but NEVER tops. This is why I am USELESS at deciding what to wear - because I have nothing to wear (with my trousers/ skirts/ leggings/etc)!

So, now I have made this recent discovery, in the last week my fingers, eye's and Cath kidston purse have been glued to my laptop and world of internet shopping. I've made rules to myself that from now on I am only allowed to buy tops, unless it is a dress/skirt/trousers that I really really can not live without. And also when buying a top, I must think about what multiple things I can wear with it.

Of course a few things have slipped through the net, but this is what I brought in the last week from surfing the net....

Black crop vest, aztek printed leggings, leopard print crop bustier - all river Island. Black long sleeve bardot top - ASOS.

Neon pink dress, grey dress - H&M floral bardot top, white bardot top, white bardot dress - Miss Selfridge Neon pink top, earings, belt - H&M

I also ordered another blouse from Dorothy Perkins today, I had too, they had 20% today only. (though the postage fee, pretty much added it back on) But I'm stuggling still! these tops I've new brought are great, but I need more :) hahaha! I still dont have tops to match so many more of clothes! The reason I've not brought tops before is because I'm really fussy about them so struggle to find something I like.

I have now too fallen for a pair for peg leg leopard print trousers in my mom's catalogue. Just £35 issue is though they are Neon and..... I have nothing to wear with them :) hahahaa! So more shopping again!! I need a wardrobe just for tops!

Do you have any wardrobe issues like me? Have any rules on shopping? I wanna hear about your shopping tales too!!

Also, know anywhere to buy nice tops from??

Fashiolista

I have recently joined the world of IFB, and unpreditcably it has taken over my world! who said blogging was easy? not only do i have to keep this blog updated to keep all you folks interested, but i also have my tumblr to look out for. My blog lovin page, (of which i am lacking in follows so please add me!) i'm now down with kids on google connect; and now newly IFB. Plus there is facebook, twitter and not to mention the 2 other blogs i run! Independant Fahion Bloggers (IFB) is full off it's own groups, forums, messages, people, links, promos etc to keep up with. Everytime i'm blogging now i have 5 internet pages open so i keep myself updated everywhere!

but it has all its good uses, and one of them is a good dish of verbal contact, recomedations and word of mouths. I got a partiular word of mouth recomedation from one girl that messaged me on IFB and it was for a site called fashiolista.com

It is a site that links with most online shops, and is basically a database for every item of clothing that is currently on sale, on the internet. i can visit topshop and scroll through their pages and when i find something i like i click the 'fashiolista heart button' on my dash (visit the fashiolisa website to download the button) and then this links it to fashionlista for the world to find!

Or opisitly i could be on seraching on fashiolista, fall in love with a pair of shoes; and fashiolista sends me straight to the site they are from; plus also giving me recomendations what else i might like.

truely amazing why haven't i heard about this before! As with most things these days, you also have a profile page that you can manage, add friends etc

add me as i no friends right now :( my name is -  anoinettevintage

and as i breifly said, i am now of IFB so check me out there too! IFB

it is pay day tomorrow!! i do not think i have ever been more greatful it then today! as i have ranted in previous posts i am poor, poor, poor! from midnight tonight i will offically have funds, and i cant think of anything better than to celebrate with a midnight internet shopping spree :D

yes dump idea, and thats what got me into the poor situation i'm in, but i just cant help myself! i have definately decided however that tomorrow lunch time i will be making way to River Island. their new SS range has hit stores and online and i just cant choose from them all! i particularly love the matching sets of afican aztec tops/ skirts/ shorts/ trousers thats avaliable.

red tassel bube tube £14.00, red tassel skirt £16.00 yellow/green aztex vest £16.00, yellow/green aztek shorts £14.00

i've made a fake shopping baset (add everything i love to buy to my shopping basket) it's currently at £144.00 and 6 items! i need to do some editing, no way can i afford to buy all that!

the thing i most fallen for is this ugly, blue bomber jaket at £40. it's a love child of M.I.A an Jimmy Saville

Also today, i recieved the new H&M catalogue. 'Season Favourites' it's called. but just like the online store it's so boring i've chucked it straight in the bin. Full of basics and nothing much else.
