Remember this scene from Edward Scisscorhands? Peg visiting Edward's castle in the hills dropping off her latest Avon Catalogue, though its no longer pastel colours and wool co-ords, the principle (earning a little extra cash) is still there, which is why I have recently become an Avon representative! Woohoo!!

 

Living for the now

So I took a lil break from blogging - work (not my life but work!) was getting in the way a bit. But in a perfectly busy way, I was doing long hours, weeks and travel but all it was all amazing!  In the last 5 weeks I have been to London, Paris, Portugal, been on 2 photoshoots, designing AW14, sending clothing to celebs and writing articles for magazines. However, things are slowing down to sort of normality now which excites me because I can get back blogging!! Yay!

DAY IN THE LIFE: London Visit

 

This Saturday I spent the day in London with my lovely friend Michelle (who travelled down from Sunderland may I add) to visit the Andy Warhol’s Muse by David McCabe exhibition at Proud Camden. Of course that was just a small part of the day, we also did a small amount of retail therapy on Oxford St and within the Camden markets.

New Year, New Blog.....NAME :)

So I finally changed my blog name! It is something I wanted to do for a while, but I put of because I thought it would be complicated for you guys (the readers) and think I may have vanished! Anyways the new blog name is actually an old nick nme of mine - it is also the name of my twitter/ instagram and you tube channel; so it really made sense to change the blog to match!

For now you can still find me at antoinettevintage.blogspot.com but it will change in due course to the much more exciting sugar hart!

LIFE UPDATE

 So life has completely got in the way of my blogging in the last 3 months. But rather than dwell on it and go on about 'hoe much of a shit blogger I am' I thought I would embrace it and show you in a small photo-montage exactly what I have been up to over the last few months. - I largely blame my new job (which I love) for taking up my time, it has been amazingly busy, and has completely taken over my life but....life carries on and there is more to my life than work!

Reading Festival 2013

When the biggest music festival is minutes from your house, there is literally no excuse to why you wouldn't want to go! This year was the first time I went to Reading Festival for the entire weekend, and I had such an amazing time spending it with some of my best friends. Somehow I only managed to see about 8 acts all weekend! haha! The majority of the day was spent drinking stella in the beer tent and soaking up the atmosphere.

GIRL IS BACK

 

GIRL IS BACK! I can't believe where the time has gone and that it's been so long since I last blogged! I am truly sorry! Truth be told, life has got in the way a bit.

Work is CRRAA-ZZZY, I've living in and out of a suitcase for the last month, playing nurse to my boyfriend (he's broken his collar bone!), and house sitting for family. Applying for new jobs (I can't afford the £400 a month petrol bill for the current one!) working night shifts and bloody early shifts! Reading Festival (pictured above) also took over my life a bit, and in my older years - it took few days to recover - i'm told it's called festival flu! But I am back for a little bit, before I run away to Canada in 4 days time!!

So until Thursday when I disappear again! (but it won't be for along I promise!) I have plenty of blog post ideas to get your teeth stuck into! WATCH THIS SPACE!!

THIRTEEN

Lucky for some, unlucky for others. Is the year 2013 really going to be your greatest year yet? I'm reading a lot people shouting off roof tops that it will be, and why wouldn't you want the new year to be better than the last?

I always like to spend the end/ beginning of the new year, recoup-orating  take  couple of days off work, have a huge de-clutter of my bedroom and my mind. Recharge my batteries and start the working year afresh. And this is exactly what I have done. after a hectic Christmas working and visiting family new Year was spent lounging in front of the telly, with the boy doing all of the above.

2012, was good to me, I got a brand new job, in a brand new career that I've always wanted to be in. Made new friends, rekindled with old one, and had an amazing holiday with some of my best friends. Which brung us all so much closer. My boyfriend and me are still going strong after 8 and half years and I can't wait to spend another year with him.

My hopes and changes for 2013? I always make the same three resolutions each year, write more, draw more and read more. You can never do enough, and each time will make you bigger and better at the skill. I want to be blogging a lot more, at least 3 times a week. Ideally I'd love to do it daily, but I just don't think I'll have the time!! Though i will try! I have a new camera and tripod, the world is my blogging oyster!

Like 99.9% of bloggers I have waaay to many clothes that just don't get worn, I need to stop spending so much of my wages on new clobber for my wardrobe. So my new motto will be 'Don't buy it, unless it looks f**king amazing' and always think of co-ordinates. So many of my clothes don't get worn cause I have nothing to wear with them, this will be a definite change! Im so bored of this issue swamping my wardrobe!

Apart from the these and the obvious other goals 'lose weight, get fit, new job' etc I'm looking forward to what 2013 will bring!

Oh, PS I also want to be blonde by the end of spring, and get out of the habit of burning myself with various hair curling items - as this morning proved!

Every little girls dream

Ok, it's not Prince Charming, but it's the next best thing. My brother moved out 2 weeks ago, some people might be happy that there brat sibling has moved out but I wasn't. Not only I was I emerald green with envy but I do love my brother, we are really close and I miss him loads!

So i want YOUR views on life.....as it stands

I just wanted to write a post to say whats going on. I've decided to give myself a kick up the arse and work hard on this blog. I want it to go somewhere and be something,  I'm planning loads of future posts that I can't wait to do. Also I have a few more ideas for some more fashion challenges. If you haven't seen it before I have done 2 previous challenges, 1 to not wear black for 30 days; and the other was to wear something leopard print everyday for 30 days! They are so much! you can see a summary of them here. Some more personal pieces OOTD's, hauls, personal life etc, aswell as fashion news, inspirations and everything else that interests me. What kind of things do you prefer to read?

also on my mind are VLOGS? i've been watching loads recently and it's getting me inspired to do my own! what do you think of vlogs? would you watch me talk for 10 mins? I might have to take some etiquette lessons before I start! haha!

As well is facebook? is it worth creating a facebook page for your blog? Obviously I have a personal account, and I've noticed that a lot of people create FB pages for their blogs, but is it worth it?

I've been trying to discover myself again lately. I was tied up in a office job for 4 years that has had an effect on me, and I hate it. Dressing everyday in 'officewear' when smart wear isn't your style is hard (well i found so) and to and extent I have lost my personal style. Though, since i started my new job 2 months, I get to wear what ever I want (to an extent!) which is helping me find my roots again. I was also a passionate writer and artist. All things I have slowly drifted from since full time work. Im setting myself goals to draw and write everyday, i miss the creative passion and I don't want to lose it forever. Maybe this is something I'll post about daily too. maybe not here, but via twitter or istagram taking photo's of my work. Have you ever lost yourself? how did you find it again? strangely I have found inspiration right in my bedroom. just looking at things through a camera lense gives them a new light.

So I have just spent the last 2 hours re-designing my blog! Please tell me what you think! I know it doesn't quite fit in on the screen - Im not sure why this is! And I Know my title is HUGE but i can't work out how to make it smaller and keep the alignment in the middle. plus i've got a bit bored of resizing/altering things for the last hour. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW!


Also I want to make a blog button for my page. i have the button but im not sure how to put it on my page for you guys to copy (if you want too) and put it on your page. - Help please!

And lastly, I have neglected my MUSIC BLOG recently, that I want to revive. Check it out now I have revamped the layout/look, and new posts will be made soon!!

i always love nosing at people's 'my desk' posts and in magazines. so here is mine!

cat is always included! Lettice (is her name) always comes sit on my lap when im blogging; so she wanted to be sure i got her in the photo too.

new year, new...

…Shoes!! of course what else! But it is these beautiful brown leather doc martens that have got my heart racing over the last 10 days. 

 

Father Christmas was very good to me and got my exactly what I wanted. A brown pair of 1490 Doc Marten’s; they feed my new obsession for brown shoes. Where I have got this fantasy I am quite unsure but brown seems to fit/clash very nicely with everything else that is in my wardrobe right now, and I want to get more. I’m currently trying to hunt down a pair of brown creepers. (yes I know they sound amazing!) but the only pair I can find is a homemade set on ebay for £70, not including p&p and I just can’t bring myself to spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes. Though if I still have not found a pair by next pay day I might have to dive deep into my cath kidston purse, bit lip, and lie to everyone and by them.

I generally did quite well for clothes this budget Christmas. Also getting some red aztek print leggings, which are surprising flattering on my size 12 legs. An offensive mustard yellow cardigan which I really wanted; and some hair accessories.

So I have written out my plan for 2012 in my new leather bound diary. 14 resolutions I have!! Don’t fret! I won’t bore you with them all, but they consist of the normal, travelling, meet new people, save money, move out, write a book, get published etc I also have a pile of 40 books and 17 dvd’s all unread and unwatched, and I vale to myself that I will watch and read them all before buying any more (neither to say, I wrote this last year and failed miserably).
